Well we have officially tried Zoey on her first little rice cereal her nana bought her for christmas. Though it was against my better judgement because the pediatrician has not said it was ok for her to start yet...I caved because Jim begged me and Im determined not to be a stay at home martyr. So we mixed up some breast milk and she did pretty good. she gave us a couple stink faces but swallowed it down. Jim tasted it and agreed it deserved a stink face. Zoey has her next appointment at the drs on the 17th so then we can discuss her eating any food. I am excited for her to start but it makes me kinda sad shes growing up so quickly :(

I cant wait to start making her baby food. I have my kitchen aid attachment all set and ready to go! wooo hooo! Maybe her eating food will help me supply more of her needs in her milk. Jims ordering my next round of motilium today which will bring me to around when shes 6 months, a major goal for us. Id love to go a year, but 6 months will be rewarding in itself. I never thought we would make it this far. Although i do have to still supplement sometimes she still is getting the majority of her calories from breast milk. I did try nursing again and she nursed for a little bit but not much. she went right to it one day when she was upset and was rooting around. i had just pumped so there was not much there but she at least remembered what to do. and she still does stick her hands down my shirt and lick my chest. i think she still wants to try, so i wont give up on her :)

We are getting pretty far in our basement renovation. We have all the walls up and built and the door is built. I painted the laundry/sewing room a pretty sweet hot hot pink. Like pepto pink :) I found it on the clearance rack at walmart. I have a secret love affair with clearance paint. I have never been disappointed with a color. They usually are off beat just a little bit but thats what makes its special, and you know by the top what it dries like so its not a surprise. But it makes me sad when the color gets abandoned. So for $7 we had our gallon of pepto pink. After we were done Jim said it looked like Sweet and Sassy in there. (my childrens spa job) My brother jordan and his wife rachel came over and helped us finish painting jims area. Its romantic overlook...lol...nice color for a man cave right. its acutally a pretty subtle grey color. makes the area look much much bigger which is nice. then we will be painting the floor with garage paint that is a deep grey with those floor paint sparkles you through in. We did pull up the carpet on the stairs only to find they have these crappy treads on them that wont come off and they are soooo slippery so we have to buy new ones. we found them at lowes for 2.50 each so it wont be so bad. then last night we got some grey sheets to make curtains out of. we have some storage areas down there that need to be covered and its was cheaper to buy the fabric that way. So really I probably should be sewing them not but not feeling like it.

Ok so i decided that i really should get off the computer and try to sew my curtains. needless to say i bought fitted sheets not flat sheets....ughhh....oh well back to walmart i go to switch them out. But i did decide that i need to put a skirt around our dump sink. its maybe 20-30 years old then i am and it looks like its seen better days. jim said i could get a new one, but looking at the plumbing fiasco in the basement we decided against it. We have a septic tank for our house (yea no one would know we live in a very populated area but no one on my block has sewer, but thats ok with me cause no one but out block can boast the 1+ acre yards we have ) so we have our washer dump into the dump sink which runs it to this pit that has a sump pump and that pumps it outside to a grey water pit. But there is a tangle of pipes and waterlines that probably should not be messed with...lol! so i rummaged through our linen closet and found an old hot pink twin sheet. We dont own a twin sized bed anymore...well ok we do my great dane sleeps on it...but we dont need the sheet. so after some fiddling around i make a cute little skirt to cover its old ickyness and the pipe that dumps it all into this bottomless pit. im going to have jim build me a faux table top to put on top of it with a tiny cut out for the washer drain. so it can be covered and look new and cute and be a functioning folding table. awwww! he really has amazed me with all the work he has done in the basement. not that my husband isnt handy, he is. but he never has tackled anything on this scale. Hes such a great husband and a saint for dealing with my rough pregnancy and letting me spend a fortune trying to give zoey breast milk with all my pills and pumps (and hours and hours he has to watch her so i can pump...) he will never know how thankful i really am for him <3
